ITIL v3

ITIL is becoming really hot in the US for implementing best practices for service desks (formerly called 'help desks') and IT service management. The ITIL practitioner certifications and topic areas are expanding to cover security, financial, and continual improvement areas, just to name a few.

ITIL v3 is the next wave in ITIL structure. For those of us who are ITIL trained and certified, it is time to get refresher training. For those who are not ITIL trained, now is the time to get that training. Here is a great link about ITIL v3 and available training (some good documents to take a look at). Thanks for taking a look at my post. I am new to the IT world. I bought all of my study material from cbtdirect, however, I did not but their practice test questions. Upon saying that, I found a site called www.actualtests.com It seems too good to be true. Every test is covered for only $99. There has got to be a catch here. The price is a lifetime membership with updates and everything. What practice tests has everyone had success with? I just want to make the right decisions. I am confident that coupled with my cbtdirect courses and a good practice test site, I will pass for sure. Anyone have any ideas?

Study Books for A+ Essentials; 602; Security+; DHTI+

I'm currently studying for my A+ Essentials and plan on taking 602 & 604 seeing how only 2 are needed to pass to get certification.

Its very basic, and i fly threw it, Acronyms, odd details and a few unknown surprises, really just helped fine tune myself for the Essentials Exam. Ive never taken the exam before, and hope to pass my first attempt. I feel confident, but suspicious i might be missing some good advice, before i take the exam, i also want to get my 25$ worth by using this forum! lol, I'm curious how hard the essentials exam is maybe from others perceptive and wonder if the exams I've chosen work together in a unified way.

After i pass my A+ Essentials; 602; 604 exams i plan on further studying
the CompTIA Securty+ and CEA-CompTIA DHTI+.

If anyone has any "All in One" Books of favorite for study prep for Security+ and/or DHTI+, plz post

Education and Training...you need to be learning almost every day in IT. Most IT profesisonals spend at least 5-14 hours per week learning new skills. They also spend thousands of dollars each year on books, certificaiton prep materials, classes, etc. This community has an extraordinary amount of knowledge about various books and training opportunities.

Want feedback on training providers? Do you know about a good deal that can save other members money on training/education? Do you want advice about the value of a degree vs. a certification?

Is there a source for A+ course weekly tests?

I'm teaching A+ for the first time, using the CompTIA materials. One of the things I'm expected to do is give the students a weekly test on the materials covered that week. I'm making up tests as I go along, but it's very time consuming. Is there a source for such tests available? Preferably free, of course! The school is very stingy with funds.

Any help would be appreciated.
